The leaves are changing and there’s pumpkin spice everything everywhere…it’s Fall! Autumn is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the sweater weather and watching the leaves change. I just want to be outside all the time.
It’s the perfect time for a Fall Family Photoshoot so let’s talk about what to wear!

Layers
This is the best part! Layers are something you probably have to skip in the Summer, but for Fall it’s a must! If you are having your photoshoot outside then make sure to bring a chunky cardigan or even a fringe trimmed card with you! Blankets work as well if you have babies in tow.
Layers add a warm cozy feeling to your images but also provide some depth for the camera to capture. Your going to love what this easy addition to your photoshoot looks like. The chunkier and more textured the better! Add a layers for Dad, Mom and the Kids.

HATS
Hats are always a great addition to any photoshoot, no matter the season. But, in Fall it’s beanie time! Kids look so cute in little beanies, especially the extra chunky ones! I love the baby hats at Reverie Threads. Great quality and pretty affordable, they often run sales as well. This one is my favorite baby beanie, so stinking cute!

Fall Color Palettes
You don’t have to stick to traditional golden toned fall color palettes for your photoshoot. You may want to consider adding some cool tones to the mix or a pop or color. You can’t go wrong with a bunch of soft neutrals for everyone, just make sure to mix up the textures a bit so everyone will look good together when hugging or your kids are being held. If you wear flat fabrics that are the same color you end up looking like one big blob when posing together. But, if you wear the same color but with different textures, think lace and linen, or chunky knits against velvet.
